Village SignComberton Allotments and Gardens Association

The Parish Council own some two acres of land north of the houses on Foxes Way and the Association manages these at a peppercorn rent. There are some 25 to 30 plots each of 6 pole which are available for the village.

The purpose of the Association is to foster interest in gardening in Comberton and this is achieved by holding an Open Show, usually in the autumn, and a Plant Sale, usually in June. We also sponsor a Best Kept Garden competition with a prize of a Silver Spoon presented at the show.

In addition we sell gardening stones at a discounted rate for our members operating from the Association shed in the playground of the Playgroup at the crossroads.

Membership stands at £1.50 per year (half of that for OAPs). Rent per plot is as low as £6.00 per year. Contact the Secretary, Mike Winney.

We only manage the Parish Council allotments off Long Road. The allotments in South Street are slightly larger (and the plots are 10 pole each) and are owned and managed by the Loyal and Ancient Order of Shepherds, which has its HQ in Market Street, Ely.
