Cambridgeshire
Choral Society (Comberton Section)
The Cambridgeshire Choral Society was
founded in 1959 to enable amateur singers from all parts of Cambridge to take
part in the performance of major choral works under a professional conductor,
with professional soloists and a full orchestra.
The Society consists
of a number of smaller choirs based at the Village Colleges or local schools
who meet separately on a weekly basis during the autumn and spring terms (10
weeks in each term). The choirs combine on some six to eight Saturday afternoons to rehearse
under their Principal Conductor - Andrew Parnell.
No auditions are required but it is expected that potential members are able to sing !! - and to read music. It is possible for experienced singers to join as Associate Members and only attend the combined rehearsals.
Comberton Choir meet in the music room at Comberton Village College on Monday evenings from 7.30 to 9.00pm.
